Definition
The process of identifying and understanding the contributions of individual agents within systems where value emerges through interaction.
Inclusionist Perspective
Relational value does not eliminate individual contribution.
It creates a need for increasingly sophisticated methods of understanding contribution.
Core Principle
The fact that value emerges through relationships increases the importance of attribution.
Inclusionist Perspective
Future civilizations may become increasingly capable of understanding how value emerges through complex networks of participation.
In informational systems, attribution depends on preserving enough Data lineage to understand how Personal Data, labor, interaction, and coordination contributed to value.
As technologies reconstruct the conditions of future participation, attribution must preserve the contributions that constructed those technologies without denying the agency of new participants. See Technological Constructivism.
Attribution also depends on distinguishing what occurred from how an interaction was interpreted. Competing perspectives can reveal different contributions and consequences, but attribution remains answerable to evidence. See Contextual Legitimacy and Relational Interpretation.

Core Question
How accurately can civilizations identify participation in value creation?
