Ownership
Ownership
Definition
The allocation of authority, responsibility, participation rights, and claims over value-generating systems.
Inclusionist Perspective
Ownership is not merely possession.
Ownership is a relationship between agents and the value-generating systems in which they participate.
Core Principle
Participation creates legitimate ownership claims.
Ownership follows contribution.
Contributors should hold meaningful claims in the systems, institutions, datasets, economies, and intelligence infrastructures they help create.
This does not mean every contribution creates identical ownership.
It means that ownership becomes less legitimate as it separates from Participation, Relational Attribution, and Value Distribution.
Inclusionist Perspective
Value emerges relationally.
Ownership should therefore reflect both:
- individual differentiation
- relational contribution
Ownership and Agency
Ownership is one mechanism through which civilizations distribute agency.
The concentration of ownership often produces the concentration of agency.
Inclusionist Perspective
Healthy ownership systems balance:
- innovation incentives
- participation legitimacy
- agency distribution
- value recognition
